Sample-model

Guideline; below I have given an example-model, which is an odd idea (probably not original), but it only has to demonstrate the format.

Model
Hovering vehicle
Alias: glider
Abstraction-page: vehicle (container-page for all vehicle-types).
Jorbol20080415
Version: 1.1
Assumption: efficient and silent engines are available.
Goals (no elaborate goal-network here):

  • Three-dimensional personal traffic to decrease traffic-jams
  • Can carry two persons and luggage

Avoidable (negative) effects:

  • Noise
  • High fuel-consumption

The glider consists of three propellors which are mounted in a horizontal board in triangular configuration. A single engine drives all propellors. The passengers are seated in the middle between propellors, which are well isolated from the passenger-cabin.
The propellors are directed downwards during lift-of but can also be tilted to produce forward thrust.
The city is outfitted with cables (compare them to trolley or tram) which are constructed in three different vertical levels. A glider hooks on the cable (like a cable-cart) to decrease the necessary upward lift of the propellors. The different levels correspond to short, middle and long distance travel.

Parents: No parent-models are present (not inspired on a model already present here).
Interfaces: The glider is linked to the cable-hanging-system.

Change-log:
microg20080424: add a cable-system. Implemented.
Petwil20080420: replace propellors by jets? Rejected by jorbol; to noisy and fuel-consuming.
