Model Versus Theory

Existant

With the definitions of model and theory used on Co-Designs, the relation between them is as follows:
A model uses theories to support it's validity or 'workingness'. This supposes the following:

  • if the relevant theories can be tested positively, they have been verified (often they can only be made plausible).
  • if the mechanisms of the model are well covered by the relevant theories, the model can be tested for it's workingness.
  • the workingness means that the goals of the goal-network are achieved (to a certain degree).
