Resources can be defined as all physical phenomena that can be used by man. For example fossil fuels, wood, sun-beams, iron etc.
Resources can be of two types:

• stock-resources like fossil fuels
  • have a discrete amount and can filled up or depleted.
• stream-resources like sun and wind.
  • have constant but limited flow and cannot (easily) be depleted.
